Offset printing is a method of copying documents and images on paper or similar materials developed by Ira Rubel early twentieth century, which involves applying ink, usually oily, on a metal sheet, usually made of aluminum alloy . It is a process similar to lithography. The plate making ink in areas where there is a hydrophobic compound (also known as Oleophilic) and the rest of the plate (hydrophilic area) is doused with water to repel the ink, the image or text is transferred by pressure to a rubber blanket to pass, finally, the paper by pressure.

Offset printing allows the reproduction of large quantities of prints at reduced cost, often used for printing large runs of magazines, pamphlets, books, etc..

How does the offset printing system?
It is based on the principle of repulsion between water and fat, the way print is indirect, through a rubber blanket and from there onto paper. The images are separated into four colors with different intensities, - cyan, magenta, yellow and black so-called four-color, the combination of these provides a wide range of colors that can be printed.
